To Darkness

It has been quite frigid outside. The sustained winter temperatures and ice feel emblematic of our cold cultural season.

Pigeons gather to create warmth through connection — a reminder that pulling closer when things get cold is the natural order of things. It is what nature has always known and what we easily forget: we perish in isolation.

We can choose. We can decide that division will not be what defines us. We can hold each other tight and make it through the frigid darkness. The light is not something we wait for. The light is the collective.

Spring is on the horizon.
